General- The general section allows for
setting default values for more common data entry items
such as custodian, division, group, location, building,
aisle, bay, rack, and units of measure. When a new asset
is entered the defaults will apply unless they are
overwritten with the other data. This expiration of assets is called depreciation and the method used in our program is defined as straight line depreciation.
Auto-Sequence - When you enter a new
record such as an asset or a transfer, Traker assigns a
unique ID number to identify it. This ID may either be
manually entered or provided automatically by the Traker
program. Here you may set the starting sequence and turn
the option on or off.
Security- Set up users and passwords.
Then identify areas of the program that each user may have
access to. This section requires administrator access.
Accent - The accounting portion of the
preferences allow for establishing accounting group
numbers for the various asset activity such as purchase
and depreciation. The accounting numbers should match
those accounts you will be exporting to in your own
accounting program.
Workplace - Here you may set up alarm
rates, picture display, and work week settings.
System - General system settings such as:
set confirm on, set journal on, and set timer on may be
checked.
